2014 The Year to Buy a Home

2014 “new home” “real estate”

Well, it took a while (365 days, in fact), but here we are in the New Year. What does 2014 have in store for you? Do you plan on making this the year you quit smoking or drop those ten pounds that have been bugging you? Maybe take up a new hobby? What about buying a new home or a place to spend family vacations? While New Year’s resolutions that focus on self-improvement often fall by the wayside when your daily routines set in, purchasing a new home or vacation property is a concrete goal you can actually plan for.

If this is the year you move to a new house or go for it and buy a mountain respite for weekend getaways, we’re excited for you—real estate decisions provide you with a great feeling of moving forward and starting the next chapter of your life, not to mention the financial benefits of investing in property. What’s great about New Mexico (besides the enchanting scenery, of course) is that home prices are "home sweet home" home "buying a home" "real estate" "new mexico"comparatively lower to other southwestern states—while it’s unfortunate that many people moved out of state in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, the exodus left a good amount of inventory—there are good deals to be had, and while prices are showing a gradual but steady climb, the economics still favor the buyer.

Still, the market is improving. Consumer confidence is growing every month, as unemployment decreases little by little. Home prices will go up accordingly, which means there might not be a better year for buying a new home than this one. If this is your year, we’d love to help you find the perfect house in Southern New Mexico!

November 14, 2013 in Blog

What makes a good real estate agent? Because it isn’t just a sales record. Sure, if you’re buying or selling a home, you want to work with someone who knows how to move properties, but that’s only part of the puzzle. Above all, when you’re buying or selling a house, you want to work with a real estate agency that puts the needs of its clients first.

Part of that is teaching our sales staff to go above and beyond competency and truly excel. We focus on communication, especially where the mechanics of real estate transactions are concerned. If you are in any way confused about the process, Amigo Realty agents make sure to break it down in a way that’s easy to understand. Our service is consistent, and we are happy to answer any and all questions—our inventory knowledge is top-notch. Holidays in Cloudcroft New Mexico

December 2, 2012 in Blog

Well, now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, have you started your diet or workout regimen? If you’re like the Amigo staff, you’ll probably start it… tomorrow. Just kidding! We’ll get around to it eventually, but with the holiday season in full swing, there’s so much shopping, baking, and visiting to do that the treadmill might get a little underused. That’s okay, because Christmas in Cloudcroft is plenty fun even if you end up with a few extra pounds or an inch or two on the waist.

One thing we look forward to at the beginning of every holiday season is the annual Lighted Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting on Burro Street. Burro Street is the scene for many of our little village’s seasonal events, but the Christmas Parade and the tree lighting are "christmas cloudcroft" "holidays in new mexico"by far the most spectacular.     This year, be sure to get a spot on Cloudcroft’s main drag by 7pm on Saturday, December 8th for the start of the parade—if you get there at 5pm, there will be refreshments available, too.

The tree lighting is one of the best parts, too. Your family members are welcome and encouraged to bring ornaments for the tree, and if you have young children, this is one of those great family memory moments you don’t want to miss. With the parade, the Christmas tree and all the caroling in between, the start of Cloudcroft’s holiday season is a must-do, and just another fun thing that makes living "holidays in cloudcroft" "new mexico vacation"or vacationing in Southern New Mexico truly spectacular.

And speaking of vacationing, if you’re from out of town and are looking for a winter vacation or getaway in Cloudcroft, don’t hesitate to give Amigo Realty a call. We have some cozy cabins and vacation homes for rent, lease and sale, and we’d love to meet you this holiday season.

Beat the Heat at Nine Thousand Feet

July 20, 2012 in Blog

Well, Rand McNally’s Rogue Riders came and went, and while Cloudcroft didn’t win Friendliest Small Town in America in Rand McNally’s Best of the Road rankings, we had a really great time hanging out with Rob and Jen, and from their videos, it looks like they had fun, too. And anyway, we don’t need an award hanging on the wall to know we’re friendly—it’s part of what makes our town great. Well, that and the weather.

We had recently met some North Texans who rented a vacation property in Cloudcroft from us, and they loved the fact that while Southern New Mexico is hot during the day, the temperature drops at night. The whole idea of needing a jacket on a summer night kind of blew their minds. If there’s one selling point (and there are many) for taking a vacation in Cloudcroft during the summer, it’s our "new mexico" "vacation home" summerfantastic weather. While people in Arizona and Texas sweat it out from morning ‘til midnight, we get to cool off at night. Our new Texan friends became big fans of sitting on the porch at night, breathing in the mountain air and sipping on chardonnay (and a Happy Camper beer), and they vowed to make Cloudcroft their new mid-summer getaway spot.

In other words, if you want to shake the summer torpor and beat the heat, you can’t go wrong with a weekend away in the mountains. If you’re looking for a summer getaway or a weekend vacation, give Amigo Realty a call—we’ll be happy to help you cool off.
