BAAM New Mexico Music Fest

June 12, 2012

"BAMM music festival"There’s no denying that Cloudcroft is a small mountain town, and certainly, being a quaint little village is one of the main reasons why I love where I live so much—the peace, the quiet, the serenity of being outdoors with nature makes this place really special. But sometimes, a little bit of loud noise is great, which is why I’m excited about the third annual Badass Mountain Music Fest June 15th and 16th!

The BAMM fest, held at the Ski Cloudcroft ski resort Friday evening and all day Saturday has a great line up of rock, folk, hip hop, and a whole lot more; with the exception of El Paso’s The Hillside Gamblers and The Lusitania, all the bands are born and bred here in New Mexico, including Cloudcroft’s own Electric Bones—Cloudcroft may not be Austin, Seattle, or L.A., but we like to rock a little bit, too!

In addition to the music, mountain bikers can take advantage of Ski Cloudcroft’s chairlifts to get to the top of the runs and then blast down to the bottom; you can ride the chairlifts up and down, too, even if you’re not at all keen on racing down a mountain on a bicycle. You can also camp during the weekend, but get there early, since the spots are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

All in all, the BAMM Fest is just another great get-together in the Cloudcroft community, and it’s one more fun event that makes our town such a great little vacation destination.
